We didn't quite get our hour of outside time today because of all the rain, however, we did Bake More Bread! (and painted and play-doh-ed extra extra long)
I got the recipe from How We Montessori
Chandler & Brychan loved punching and poking the dough
I loved that I could let me eat what was still stuck to their fingers once it was set aside to rise.
1.5 cups of warm water
1.5 tablespoons yeast
0.25 cup honey
0.25 cup [olive] oil
1.5 teaspoon salt
4-5 cups of flour (I used about 4.5 today)
Dissolve yeast and honey in warm water, add oil and salt and mix, add flour, knead for approximately five minutes, let dough rise for 20-30 minutes in warm spot until double in size, knead briefly and divide if making bread rolls, bake at 355oF for around 20 min for rolls or until brown.
I ended up with 8 large rolls and they could have not been more perfectly baked. Exactly the right stiff but not chewy crust, exactly the right fluffy inside.
That "mac n cheese" right there isn't mac n cheese! Full write up on that recipe coming soon :)
