It's been awhile since I mentioned the chickens
They are still busy being chickens, laying eggs...
Cock-a-doodle-doo-ing, etc!
Last weekend, Reed whipped up this nice little frame for the blackberries.
We've been getting 2-5 ripe berries every day, we have to pick them everyday so the chickens don't!
All the blueberry bushes are still alive, but this is the only one with fruit.
Best Garden Assistants ever!
The chickens destroyed all the strawberry plants that had in here last year, so we're trying Okra, transplanted Brussels Sprouts & a few tomato sprigs.
On the deck we have pumpkins and pole beans
Our pumpkins sprouted up in just a few days and we've already have to thin them out
Same with the pole beans, there were twice as many plants that came up, the tiny green leaves are a random flower that we had seeds for.
In the greenhouse, we have 2 rail planters that have coriander/cilantro in the top row, purple basil in the middle and carrots along the bottom.
This one has parsley in the top row, sweet basil in the middle and carrots on the bottom. These rows are a little less row-like because the kids did it :)
The floor of the greenhouse has eggplant, 3 peppers that came back from last year, a new hot pepper and that's a Cherokee Purple tomato
Cherokee Purple again, Mr. Stripey tomato, few random tomato sprigs, and a Yellow Pear grape tomato
Yellow Pear again, Sweet 100 cherry tomato, all the Brussels Sprouts that still there from last year and a Watermelon!
These are Nasturtiums (which are edible by the way!) hanging on the rails overlooking the veggies.
and here's a great article on why they should be near veggies, that I could act like I planned that on purpose, but that would be lying.
